Who Is This Car Best For?

Scores are calculated algorithmically from the technical data available for this exact specification. Missing fields are not filled with assumptions.

Family use 60/100
City driving 56/100
Long trips 54/100
Sporty driving 80/100
Economy 57/100
Daily practicality 75/100

MG Marvel R (2021–2023) is a suv running on electric. It belongs to the ES8 generation. This assessment describes this exact specification from the published technical figures — 288 hp, automatic transmission, all-wheel drive.

Family suitability scores 60/100 (average fit). The layout with 5 seats and 5 doors supports passenger-carrying use. Boot capacity of 357 L looks adequate for daily loads. A 2804 mm wheelbase hints at cabin proportions, but it is not a substitute for measured passenger space. No crash-test rating is stored, so safety is not inferred.

For urban use the score is 56/100 (average fit). Overall length of 4673 mm is typical for the class and still needs care when parking. Width at 1919 mm also shapes how compact the car feels in town. As an EV, urban efficiency is usually a strength when consumption or range data exist. The automatic gearbox eases stop-start traffic. Turning circle and parking-aid equipment are not in the database, so they are excluded.

For highway and long trips the score is 54/100 (average fit). The rating relies mainly on technical data; there are no reliable cabin-noise or seat-comfort measurements here. Claimed WLTP range is about 370 km — useful when planning charging stops. For overtakes and steady cruising, the key figures are 288 hp and 665 Nm. Boot space (357 L) affects holiday luggage practicality.

Dynamic performance scores 80/100 (strong fit). With 288 hp and 0–100 km/h in 4.9 s, this version shows strong pace. Power-to-weight is about 150 hp/tonne at 1920 kg. Torque of 665 Nm supports mid-range response. Drive type (all-wheel) informs the chassis score without claiming a specific handling feel. Top speed is listed at 200 km/h.

Economy scores 57/100 (average fit). Catalogue energy use is 19.5 kWh/100 km. These are official/catalogue figures, not a promise of real-world consumption. CO₂ is listed at 0 g/km.

Day-to-day practicality scores 75/100 (good fit). Body style (suv) sets the basic use profile. Five doors make boarding passengers and loading easier. The 357 L boot matters for weekly shopping and trips. An automated gearbox simplifies everyday driving.

Strongest areas from the available data: performance (80), daily practicality (75). Main compromises are long trips (54).

It suits drivers seeking livelier performance rather than maximum space or calm comfort. As an electric variant it makes most sense with reliable charging access and routes covered by the available range figure.

Bottom line: MG Marvel R shows a balanced technical profile with an average around 64/100 across scored categories. Treat this as guidance built only from confirmed figures — match it against your real needs, a test drive and ownership costs.
